ABC's Good Morning America Illustrates Summer Gas Prices on Dresser Wayne Gas Pump

AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 29, 2007) - As Americans plan their travel budgets this summer, ABC's Good Morning America is using a Dresser Wayne Ovation ® iX fuel dispenser (gas pump) to keep viewers informed of gas prices in a remarkable way. Show hosts tap into the gas pump's integrated 10.4-inch full-color video display to engage audiences in an animated illustration of how much motorists can expect to pay at different locations throughout the country. The demonstrations are part of Good Morning America's weekly segments called America's Gas Pump.

Throughout the summer, Good Morning America will be tracking gas prices across the United States. Part of the America's Gas Pump segment spotlights the cities in the U.S. with the highest and lowest gas prices, as well as regional gas prices. Show hosts can present the results using the gas pump's color screen during the America's Gas Pump segments. They can display maps of the U.S., focusing on individual states, and use animated graphics to illustrate gas price trends by geographic region. The segments, which began on May 21, are scheduled to air one to two times per week until Labor Day Weekend, the end of the heavy summer automobile travel season.

"When Good Morning America approached us with the America's Gas Pump idea, we immediately knew that our gas pump would be a perfect way to incorporate still and video graphics into the segment," says D.P. Rabalais, director of North America Marketing for Dresser Wayne. "The Ovation iX fuel dispenser's unique interactive, multimedia capabilities enable at-the-pump news broadcasts, traffic updates and weather reports so it is a natural fit for ABC's purposes."

The Ovation iX fuel dispenser is situated on the first floor set of the ABC studio located on Times Square in New York City. Times Square visitors and pedestrians are able to see the fuel dispenser on display when the show is on the air as well as during certain times of the day. Good Morning America is watched by more than five million viewers every day.
